SEE IT
We’re a training church! We want to always be a group where:
-
No one walks alone.
-
Older and younger Christians know each other.
-
Wisdom gets passed along.
-
Burdens are shared.
-
Faith is strengthened through friendship.
“Go therefore and make disciples… teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:19-20).
DO IT
Start Small. You don’t need to have every answer. You just need to be willing to invest.
Who?
-
Pray for God to open a door.
-
Look for someone who could use encouragement.
-
Men with men. Women with women.
-
Remember: you need encouragement too.
When?
Consider meeting:
-
Once a month
-
Over coffee or a meal
-
During a walk
-
Before or after worship
-
Around an activity you both enjoy
The important thing is making room to talk.
How?
-
Ask questions and really listen.
-
Share your own life honestly.
-
Read and discuss Scripture.
-
Pray together.
-
Follow up and encourage consistently.
BIG IDEA: Spiritual growth tends to happen in intentional, Christ-centered relationships.
