“And he is the head of the body, the church” (Col. 1:18).
The church belongs to Christ, who loved his church and gave himself for her.
Look What Jesus Gave Us
-
A People — Acts 2:41-47
He saves us into a family. -
A Table — Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 11:23-26
We proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. -
A Song — Col. 3:16; Eph. 5:19
We sing to God and one another. -
Shepherds — Acts 20:28; 1 Pet. 5:1-4
Local elders serve under the Chief Shepherd. -
A Mission — Eph. 4:11-16; Matt. 28:18-20
We want to spend the church on the work Jesus gave his church.
We don’t want our church. We want his.
If something is ours, we can let it go. If it belongs to Christ’s design for his people, we should cherish it. What did Jesus give his church to be?
