“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children” (Deut. 6:6-7).
Let Them See Faith in You
Before God’s words come through you, they must live in you.
- Some of the most important parenting happens when your children aren’t even in the room.
Read: Deut. 6:4-9
Let Them See What Your Faith Does
Our words matter, but our lives speak even louder. Children see what we actually trust, love, fear, prioritize, and worship.
What do the children in your life see when things get hard?
Read: Titus 2:7; 1 John 3:18
Let Them See You Come Back
Our children don’t need to believe that Christians never sin. They need to see what Christians do when they sin.
Read: Luke 17:3-4
Let Them Look Through You to Him
Our children do not need to look through us and see perfect parents. They need to see people who keep looking to a perfect Father.
“Abide in me, and I in you” (John 15:4).
Read: John 15:4-5; Matt. 5:48
This Week
Don’t just tell the children in your life about a life with God. Invite them into yours.
Let them hear you pray, see you serve, watch you trust God when you’re unsure.
Serve God with the kids in your life this week. Visit someone together, encourage someone, make a prayer list, serve a need, or spend time in God’s Word together.
May the children in our lives look through our flaws and catch a glimpse of our Father.
